Ben is head of the Catastrophic Injuries Department at Osbornes Law, London, where he is also the firm’s risk management partner. He acts solely for severely injured people, and frequently in difficult cases, especially those involving workplace injuries or fatalities.
Ben primarily acts in claims involving major neuro-trauma: traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, fatalities, and other claims of the utmost severity. He also represents people injured by clinical negligence, in particular relating to cauda equina syndrome claims.
He is an accredited Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and an advanced APIL accredited specialist in brain injuries and fatalities as well as being an assessor for those accreditation schemes. For ten years he was the elected Secretary of the APIL Damages Special Interest Group, and through APIL has previously contributed to working parties on a range of issues such as the reform of the Fatal Accidents Act, proposals for the introduction of online courts, and new sentencing guidelines for gross negligence manslaughter.
Ben is ranked as a leading individual in Chambers & Partners, and also in the Legal 500 for claimant personal injury and medical negligence work. He was the Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards in 2021.
